Our work at the Achieving Reunification Center (ARC) contributes to the priorities of stabilizing families in Philadelphia by providing services to parents and caregivers with children in out-of- home placement. The role of ARC is to provide a safety net for them, understand their needs, answer questions about the reunification process and assist with their reunification goals. Parents and caregivers can then partner with staff to put a viable plan in place, an important milestone in their journey to have their children return home.
ARC also provides opportunity. Parents and caregivers in crisis because their children are not living with them, can access resources to build coping strategies as they move forward on their journey. There are opportunities to access employment and housing resources to address concrete needs. Parents and caregivers have an opportunity to build economic mobility, social connectedness, health, wellbeing and educational advancement.
