PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Achieving Reunification Center (ARC), a non-profit entity, has served parent/caregivers with children placed in an out of home placement through Department of Human Services since 2005.  The vision of the Achieving Reunification Center (ARC) is that all families with children in out-of-home placement have resources and referrals provided to them to achieve timely reunification.

POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Workforce Development Coordinator is responsible for a wide range of workforce service activities and day to day delivery of  employment readiness and job attainment direct services.   The Workforce Development Coordinator will develop, plan and implement a comprehensive, ready to work model for unemployed/underemployed individuals which includes customized interventions across three  tracks: (1) Intensive coaching and other short term specialized services culminating in direct job placement; (2) Work-based training models with earning components such as on-the-job training, paid work experience, paid internships and apprenticeships; (3) Accelerated skills training along a career pathway to middle and high skilled jobs.  

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Coordinate, plan and execute comprehensive workforce development strategy through contracted and non contracted relationships tailored to meet needs of unemployed and underemployed individuals

  • Identify, develop and maintain workforce development partnerships and employer relationships;

  • Organize, plan and execute workforce development events;

  • Research jobs, local labor market information such as employment trends and forecasts, industry requirements and worker characteristics to determine job functions and worker traits.

  • Conduct interviews and pre-screen activities to determine suitability for specific occupations and/or career pathways;

  • Work collaboratively with case management and supportive services staff to implement strategies to assess individual  abilities and barriers to employment and movement towards self sufficiency;

  • Assist ARC Support Services Supervisor to monitor performance outcomes of subcontractors through monthly reporting;

  • Prepare regular reports documenting parent participation in workforce development activities.

  • Develop online resources and supports via ARC website;

  • Update database as required with client assessment and progress data; and

  • Other duties as required.



QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Services, Human Resources or related field required:

  • Previous experience, training, knowledge about workforce development, candidate screening and project management. Experience developing and implementing workforce development strategies for unemployed/underemployed individuals preferred.  

  • Strong organizational, presentation and writing skills;

  • Excellent customer service and listening skills;

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with database software;

  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, organize, problem solve and exercise good judgement with minimal supervision;

  • Ability to work effectively under time pressure and/or deadlines; and

  • Willingness to work flexible, varying hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
